Thankful Day 6

Today I am thankful for our house.  It's hard to believe we've been here for almost 2 1/2 years now.  Sometimes it feels like we just moved in and others like we've been here forever.  Over that time it has grown from a house to our home.  It is a place where we feel safe, comfortable and enjoy having friends and family share in that.  It's big enough to have people over, but small enough that we're all still cozy.  I love how open it is when you first walk in so even if someone's in the kitchen they can still talk to someone in the living room.  Some of my favorite times are curled up on the couch in our basement just enjoying the people (or animals) I'm with.  We're truly lucky to be able to have our home and I'm grateful for it. Especially on a rainy, blustery, starting to get chilly night like tonight.  I'll take the good (finished basement, extra storage in the garage, fenced in yard for the dogs with space for my garden, enough bedrooms, 2 bathrooms) with the bad (basement flooding, dripping showers, outdoor light that doesn't work, A/C needing repair and to be replaced . . . etc.) because I know it's part and parcel and we're lucky to have it.  I loved it the first time I walked in when we were house hunting and I'm glad I'm still able to say that after settling in.
