Today I am thankful for a visit with my best friend since 4th grade. We met at our usual place, Applebee's (don't judge it's been a tradition for many years), and ate dessert while catching up for several hours. When my family moved to Flatwoods, Kentucky and I started at a new school I was nervous of course but she quickly befriended me and we've been friends ever since. She's known me and been my friend through puberty and middle school, that's not something to take lightly. We have the kind of friendship that is easy to pick up each time we talk even if it's been a while (as life tends to get in the way sometimes). It's something special and I'm so glad that we're able to do so. She's there for me when I need her and never fails to make me laugh. I'm thankful we're still in each other's lives even after all these years (and for many more).
